Chobham RFC have received a massive boost ahead of their promotion run in. Director of Rugby Nigel Guy is able to report that the highly regarded coaching team of Ryan Gregory and Tony Paul have committed to the London 1 South club for a further two seasons.
With second placed Chobham pushing hard for promotion to the National Leagues, the fact that the coaching team have been secured for the medium term is a hugely positive factor allowing for long term planning ahead of this season’s outcome.
Nigel Guy said, “I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to secure Ryan and Tony’s services for a further two seasons. The impact that they have had in the three seasons they have been with us has been enormous. Under their leadership, we have progressed from the lower reaches of London 2 to being a club capable of succeeding in the National Leagues and with 60% of the 1st XV squad having come through the Chobham ranks they have shown a terrific ability to develop home grown talent.”
Head Coach Ryan Gregory added, “Tony and I are pleased to be able commit to continue the squad’s development at Chobham. We are fortunate in working with a group of players who are desperately keen to progress to National League rugby within a club which offers us a huge amount of support both on and off the field. This makes our task really enjoyable. We look forward to drawing on this support during the last 4 weeks of the season which are probably the most important in the club’s history.”
Chobham RFC support rugby at mini, junior and senior levels. At senior level the club is leading the way with its depth of coaching resource. In addition to Ryan and Tony, the club delivers top quality coaching across all teams with 2nd XV coach Liam Cranford and Development XV coach Chris Dodds, providing coaching coverage right across the senior playing spectrum.
