Our U9’s objective

To create an environment in which as many players as possible enjoy their rugby and want to continue in the game through the minis, juniors and into the seniors.

• The individual needs of each player, ensuring they are playing at the right level, not necessarily the highest level. At U9 this is especially important, as player safety becomes even more of an issue as we move to contact rugby.
  
  
• Getting as many parents involved, so we can share the workload.
  
  
• Delivering a quality experience, with excellent coaching in a safe and supportive environment. We ask our parents to continue the constructive and supportive environment that they helped create last season by encouraging all players, both Chobham and our opponents., and by supporting the coaches and referees, especially when they have difficult decisions to make.
  
  
• Coaching proper rugby, not ‘win at all cost’.
  
  

Our coaches will make sure that all players are treated equally in terms of selection, and pitch time. And by playing proper rugby we are building proper building blocks for the players’ development.

Whilst we want to be competitive and to reach the highest standards of play we can, we are not aiming to win at all cost. We will insist on the highest standards of behavior and seek parent's support in ensuring we play in the spirit of the game and for the enjoyment of everyone.
