Congratulations to our u13 players, Felix Connolly and Finn Livingstone, on being selected to join the Harlequins Development Player Programme (DPP) after attending recent trials at the Surrey Sports Park. The Quins DPP is a precursor too the full Harlequins Academy Programme and only 30 Surrey based players were selected out of well over 100 players who attended the trials having already been nominated as the best rugby players from their schools.
The photo shows the boys proudly wearing their new Quins training tops and equally proudly holding a Chobham jersey aloft.
The DPP at Harlequins is the first stage of the national academy put in place as part of the RFU’s strategic plan. The role of the DPP is to work closely with county coaches and development officers to identify players considered to have the talent to benefit from, and progress through, the programme. The DPP provides an entry into a long-term player development programme which in some cases will lead towards the very highest level of the game.
Congratulations to Felix and Finn. Both boys have been with Chobham since they joined at the tender age of 5 and with talented boys like this in our Junior section, the future of mighty Chobham looks very bright indeed!
