Chobham Women 19 – 20 Reading Ladies
What a game!! Women’s rugby at Chobham is alive and GREAT!
On Sunday afternoon the rugby gods were smiling down on us, giving us great weather conditions to create a wonderful game of rugby. And didn’t Chobham Women deliver… a nail biter of a game that kept you on the edge of your seat, not wanting to blink in case you miss the next big hit or great tackle.
The game was dominated by the Chobham forwards in all aspects, from pushing the opposition off their own ball with Chobham playing with only 7 players in the scrum and stealing and disrupting Reading’s lineouts with absolute ease. With big hits around the fringes to send the oppo backwards and the last gasp tackles on the wings to save a try.
The backline with great organisation and solid tackles made sure that no opposition player wanted the ball for too long and forcing errors and poor passing. Our attack had purpose, direction and skill with amazing runs that would have been a nightmare to defend for any opposition.
With a final score of 19 – 20 in favour of the visitors, it was a bitter pill to swallow and not a true reflection of what happened in the game, but a great game to watch nonetheless.
Every Chobham player gave 110% and left it all on the pitch and it was great to be a part of the team and the Coaches and Management Team are very proud of the Women’s performance.
