Congratulations to Chobham u15s Josh Macco and Felix Connolly

Huge congratulations to Chobham u15s player Josh Macco on his recent selection for Harlequins Developing Player Programme and Felix Connolly who has been selected for the Surrey u15s county squad.

Coach Mark Spunner reports: ” After a season of frustrations having suffered a concussion and following the Gradual Return to Play Protocol, u15s prop Josh Macco finally has something to celebrate when he learned that his recent trial at Quins had been successful and he has been invited to join the Harlequins u15 Developing Player Programme. Josh joins Chobham u15s players Finn Livingstone and Felix Connolly in the Quins DPP and all three boys will be hoping to have a strong second half to the season to ensure they progress into the Junior Elite Player Development Group – the next stage of the academy process on route to a possible professional rugby career.

Meanwhile, Felix Connolly has secured a place in the Surrey u15s county squad after a gruelling series of trials that were described by those there as brutal. Josh is awaiting the opportunity to trial with Surrey after only just returning from his head injury and we wish him well with that opportunity. Finn surprisingly missed out on Surrey selection but has taken the disappointment in his stride having recently moved schools to Wellington College, one of the country’s top rugby schools, where he has secured a starting berth at scrum half in their all conquering u15As side that look a fair bet for honours in this seasons Nat West Cup. The whole club offers congratulations to Josh and Felix and hopes all three boys still have plenty of opportunities ahead to pull on the Chobham jersey.”
