Harlequins star surprises Chobham Minis with coaching session

Last weekend Harlequins’ Number 8, George Naoupu visited Chobham to lend his expert hand with the morning’s training sessions.

20161009_115144Taking time out of his training schedule, Naoupu visited the Chobham Minis from Under 7’s to Under 10’s including a visit to the inaugural Chobham Minis’ Girls session; and during a very busy morning immersed himself with the coaching of Tag through to Contact rugby before taking part in a question and answer session, posing for photos and signing autographs with the children.

Commenting on the visit, George said: “I still remember playing at that age and it’s great to see the enjoyment that the children get from playing rugby.

Every professional player starts their career running around at local clubs like this and there was lots of talent on display. Hopefully we will see some of these guys running out in a Harlequins’ shirt in the not too distant future.”

Gareth Wilkins, Minis’ Vice- Chairman added: “Having taken 170 Chobham Minis to watch Harlequins beat Northampton our boys and girls were very excited to meet an actual player the very next day, so thanks to George and coaches Mike and Stevie for adding that extra something to our morning’s training”.
