Past Players of Chobham would like to invite you all to the pre 1st team supporter’s lunch, Chobham v Brighton on Saturday 3rd January. Give you the opportunity to throw off that Dry January / Veganuary (?). The Devils 3s will also be playing Old Mid-Whitgiftian 2s. Both matches kick off at 2.30pm.
I will be raising funds on the day in aid of the ‘My Names Doddie foundation’ (https://www.myname5doddie.co.uk/) which is a charity raising funds to aid research into Motor Neurone Disease. Doddie Weir, for those that don’t know, was a fellow second row who played for Scotland and famously the Lions during the 1990’s. He has been diagnosed with this vile disease for which there is currently no treatment. Some of you will be aware that my brother-in-law, Pete Vasey, a Chobham lower team prop and bar stalwart from the late ‘80’s passed away from MND 7 years ago. I will run a raffle on the day if I get enough prizes donated, if you have anything suitable please let me know.
The 1st team opposition on the day will be Brighton, and the Six Nations will be kicking off with Wales v Scotland at 2:15 and France v Ireland at 4:45.
Lunch will be Beef pie supplied by George Arthur Butchers, followed by Sponge and custard.
The Bar will open at 12 noon and sit down will be at 1pm. If you would like to book a table please contact myself here or Geraint . I need to give final numbers to Dave Buchan by Wednesday 31st January 2018.
Regards
Keith Rowe.
