The Mighty Chobham Tigers were unbeaten in hard fought, low scoring matches at the Camberley B Festival on Sunday 19th April 2015.
The lads started off with an attacking performance and comfortable win against Camberley, running in four tries, before having to switch to defensive mode and putting in a lot of hard tackles to draw against Cobham, whose players were significantly bigger than ours.
Then came the highlight of the day, a fierce game against London Irish. Chobham withstood intense pressure from a big, well-drilled opposition drawing players from a large squad but their determination and commitment, with some outstanding tackling, saw them beat Irish in a close game. By half time of the last game, Guildford were reduced to 6 players as a result of more hard tackles (and a hard ground), and our own Jacob played for the opposition in the second half, showing typical Chobham grit by scoring a last minute try against us to tie the match.
All the players’ contributions were fantastic across the board, both individually and as a close-knit team that bonded well, with every one of them putting in a phenomenal amount of hard work in defence and showing flashes of creativity in attack against often bigger teams.
